Fall Has a Jewelry Color Palette and Nature Made It

Fall Has a Jewelry Color Palette and Nature Made It

When fall arrives, the world changes color. Deep reds, golden yellows, warm oranges, earthy browns, and rich greens begin appearing everywhere.

Those same colors can also be found inside some remarkable gemstones.

Gemstones That Feel Like Fall

The Gemological Institute of America notes that several October and November birthstones naturally fit an autumn color palette.

Citrine is a variety of quartz known for colors ranging from pale yellow to rich golden orange. Its warm color pairs beautifully with yellow gold and other autumn tones.

Topaz offers even more variety. Although many people recognize blue topaz, this gemstone can also occur in golden yellow, orange, pink, and reddish shades. Imperial topaz is especially admired for its warm orange-to-pink color.

Tourmaline can be found in an impressive range of colors, including forest green, cranberry red, pink, yellow, and brown. Some tourmaline crystals even display more than one color.

Opal can reveal flashes of several colors from different angles. One piece may appear to contain touches of red, green, orange, blue, and gold.

An Easy Seasonal Style Change

You do not have to replace your entire wardrobe when the season changes. Adding a gemstone pendant, ring, bracelet, or pair of earrings can introduce fall color without changing your personal style.

Warm gemstones look especially attractive with:

  • Yellow or rose gold

  • Cream, brown, olive, burgundy, and navy clothing

  • Denim, leather, and other seasonal textures

  • Layered necklaces or mixed-metal jewelry

The best fall gemstone is not necessarily the one that matches your birth month. It is the one whose color makes you stop and take a second look.
